My laser cut ticks arrived!  They are made out of optical polarizing material and change transparency depending on the angle relative to each other.  I laid them out at random angles so should be pretty random when they’re black or not.  I’d like to put them on a vibrating platform so they are changing dynamically.  I had to outsource their production to for $$ because of ambiguity of what the material was (i.e. if it’s toxic and to laser cut).  Ponoko offers a laser cutting service for polarizing material, not sure who else would want to make use of it but glad I could- their material is also quite a bit thicker then the flimsy film I’m use to (wish I knew their supplier).  IMG_0560
